The 2050 Pathways Platform has received funding from Germany’s International Climate Initiative (IKI), to support specific countries in “Laying the foundations for long-term low emission development strategies (LTS)” (see project page). In addition to support on laying the foundations for LTS, the project supports four countries, including The Gambia, in aligning their short- mid- and longer-term goals, and/or in translating these into concrete sectoral workplans to facilitate implementation.
The Government of The Gambia has expressed interest in being part of this project, which will contribute to the development of the NDC 3.0 is done in alignment with the LTS. The activities to be supported are focused on carrying out technical and policy analysis on The Gambia’s long-term climate planning, and proposing practical recommendations that can be integrated in the NDC 3.0 update process with the aim of achieving strong alignment of the NDC 3.0 with the LTS. As such, the 2050 Pathways Platform is seeking proposals from firms to lead the delivery of outputs from the project in The Gambia.
The expected outputs from the project are:
a. Recommendations Report on aligning The Gambia’s NDC 3.0 to the Long-Term Climate-Neutral Development Strategy 2050 (LTS), integrating stakeholder inputs. The Recommendations Report will include technical and policy analysis on the importance, implications, challenges and opportunities of alignment between the NDC and LTS of The Gambia, giving practical recommendations for aligning The Gambia’s NDC 3.0 to existing LTS.
b. A concise assessment document detailing how the Recommendations Report findings have been integrated into NDC 3.0, and evaluating the alignment between the finalized NDC 3.0, the LTS, and other relevant planning processes. The analysis will present a concise assessment that details whether and to what extent the findings of the Recommendations Report were integrated into the NDC 3.0, analyzing and examining the alignment between the finalized NDC 3.0, the LTS, as well as other relevant planning processes.
The above-mentioned outputs should be the result of a well-organised process under the leadership and guidance of the Ministry of Environment Climate Change and Natural Resources (MECCNAR) of The Gambia and other relevant ministries, as well as robust analysis reflecting inputs from key government stakeholders and broad national development priorities.
Please refer to the Terms of Reference for further details about the project and the full application process and requirements.

Clarifications
The European Climate Foundation, which hosts the 2050 Pathways Platform, is a registered charity (in the Netherlands), not a registered business, thus we do not have a VAT number. As such, it is important to include VAT in the total amount of the budget proposal.
